Sunday 3rd August - walk **** – Nacton Shores – sunny periods with
some rain.
Friday 1st August.
Maeva day and it is wet so after some fun at home we drive over to
Levington Marina for a picnic in the van right next to the River Orwell. We
had a great time despite the gloomy weather, Maeva loves her trips out in
the little campervan and enjoyed throwing rocks into the river!
Saturday 2nd August.
Drove down to Felixstowe dock view point just before nine to take a few
pics of the big pink container ship stopping on the way to snap the park
run along the prom, never seen so many runners! Mag and I walk to a short
afternoon stroll along the prom.
Sunday 3rd August.
A day of sunny periods with rain in the afternoon, after exercises in the
garden I packed a picnic and we drove over to Nacton Shores for a walk
along the Orwell to have lunch at the small concrete dock near the lovely
thatched cottage directly opposite Pin Mill. You can now walk all the way
to Ipswich and onto Shotley on the improved Charles 111 footpath. It is
always nice to walk through the trees on the banks of the Orwell, we even
spotted a very noisy small hovercraft out on the mud as the tide was very
low! We were just starting lunch when the heavy rain arrived so we had to
complete our picnic sheltering under a tree, still a top walk:)
